Hey Guys Here Is My Story And i would like to know what the heck is going on

yesterday i was rgh a slim, everything is perfect and it just doesnt want to glitch under 30 seconds, it glitches but not under the 30 sec margin

did everything i can the same, today i tried some more same, flashed coolrunner did everything in the book same results, random glitching, sometimes 10 sec, later a min

out of hope i was oing to remove the damm thing and give up, but i said duuuugh what the heck lets turn the switch to Phat and see what happenes:) even if i see fireworks will be worth the hassel :p, and booom instant glitch

hahaha

i tried it like 30 times, the average is 5 to 15 second glitches

and the failed glitch takes 30 seconds

what the helll :eek2:, returned the switch to slim, back to funny collrunner behavior, 30 seconds plus also lots of times doesnt glitch:rolleyes2:

so i flipped it to fat and its working perfect now

i tried this before on a slim, but i didnt get and glitching at all as its a slim and i have the switch on phat

but what the hell its glitching on both, but on phat its much better and faster

Just glitched a 320GB GOW3 slim, blue wire at the full 50cm, with the switch on Slim it can go 15 blinks without booting, set to Phat it consistently boots on the first, second or third blink. I will definitely be trying this before shortening the blue wire in future.

wow, this is very interesting information. Makes me wish I hadn't un-done my RGH on my Zephyr to try running it as Slim to see if it would actually boot into XeLL

lol i have undone 2 slims, which i regret actually, but this doesnt work on all btw,

i tried it on 2 consoles, worked on 1 and not on the other

its according to the coliling of the blue wire, thats what i figured out, if your coil doesnt glitch with the slim, will glitch with the fat

maybe even much better

Wouldn't get your hopes up. I have a PITA Zephyr that has been sat on my side for an age. Just tried this with fingers crossed.... unfortunately I get no green LED at all. It blinks consistently but doesn't boot to Xell set to Phat, doesn't even come on when set to slim.

Thanks for the info. Just makes
me wonder if I shouldn't have given up on it so quickly if there was indeed something I did wrong despite it not looking that way.

When you switch to PHAT the R5 capacitor on Coolrunner is not used. The 1.8 voltage output becomes steady since it doesn't travel through R5.

Maybe that has something to do with it. You could try connecting CPU_RST to the bottom/left leg of the SLIM/PHAT switch. Switch back to SLIM and see what happens

with this many reports of problems, i think alot of people should wait. this is in the beginning stages and alot of bugs have yet to be worked out. i had a slim, brand new, thats parts now. i even hired a pro to do it and he said my soldering was perfect but it just wouldnt glitch, and eventually after a few attempts, turned into a red dot. i prob did something wrong, but theres ALOT of people having problems.

red dot is a messed up cpu rst point, just find the alt and it will be fine, happened twice with me

Just to update, tried it on my Zephyr, and no go-for slim mode. Went through and re-soldered everything.
