G drive info.

Just added a WD1600BB 160GB Drive to the XB and changed the bios to what I thought was 1959, but it shows 1892 or something (that's another story though.) I formatted the HDD (easiest thing in the world) enabling the G drive to get the run off after F gets 137. However, when I put games and files into the G drive, XBMC and Avalaunch don't see what is in there. What gives? Something I'm not doing right? Any assitance is greatly appreciated, as I have been unable to find stuff in the forums about this. Thanks in advance,

Chance

hmmm in xbmc i recently had problems playing dvd files from there. I'm pretty sure i searched ALL OVER for what your sugesting. Let me try it again and il give you guys an idea where in the file it is listed, if anywhere....

UPDATE: alright i guess i didnt look hard enough. i found the entry "<useGDrive>no</useGDrive>" so i switched "no" to "yes". for avalaunch, around the top third of the file it shows <G enabled="1"/> for enabled g drive. 0 would be for disable.

If i were you though i woulda formatted to have a large f drive. reason? in the long run it just stops the confusion of where to put files to put the most amount of info on there. For me it would have been alot easier to have all my games in one folder instead of them split by partition.

Though when i get my new laptop (alienware baby  ) It comes with a dvd burner so ima just backup all my stuff on f and g, burn to disc or store on laptops 80gb hdd's (raid 0 baby  ) and then reformat hdd's f and g so that i only have a big f.

wrboyce-

Thanks!! That did help! Only thing is that now under Avalaunch, even thought the games are in a GAMES folder, they're still not showing up under the games logo... oh well, guess I'll use that part for video and music... it's only 20GB anyway. :) Unless anyone has anything else... :)

Thanks again!

Pmt probe - no cap

STOP - Cap is no longer required

Here you have my latest version - NO CAPACITOR - Just a CK3 Probe body, a Long CK 3 cable, and a push to break switch(inline of 3.3v line).

Whatever you do - DONT CONNECT RED AND BROWN CABLE TO A SWITCH WITHOUT ALTERING WHERE THEY TERMINATE! - they are cut off the other end and spliced into 3.3v line!

This design allows the power cycling and probing all from the probe - One Handed

using the inline 3.3v switch the instructions are as follows
1. CK3 Main Power ON, refresh port
2. Press PhatKey, then Yes
3. Press to break switch IN (disconnect 3.3v), connect GND wire to MPX01, release press to break
4. After status 0x52 disconnect GND from MPX01, wait for message. Press-to-Break press IN, wait a second or two, then Release Button.
5. Press OK.
6. Done!

lol

whispers (scorp)

dont hate on me!
This thread is about how to do it for free - and without using capacitors or live power clips or having to discharge electricity.

Oh and when using PMT with Jungle Flasher its much faster and easier too

So your comment was utterly pointless to be fair

Back on topic........

Oh dear!

few points here ffrozen.

Scorpion - has a capacitor, 2 jump-leads (that you have to very carefully attach to the Voltage regulator) AND did not have its concept revealed for free -

PMT - no cap method was discovered very shortly after FREE reveal of method (reversed from the scorpion method) has no precarious leads to connect to PCB - ALL ROUND MUCH BETTER SOLUTION

If your comments were a dig at the fact it came from the scorpion - then it's wasted - The release notes in JF even credited max for the original concept. It wasnt stolen - it was reverse engineered and improved (same as the rest of the scene to be honest)

Not at all dude

Im just lazy and didnt want to rig a fix, so I paid for one. I am very sure many people don't want to go through the trouble.

Will follow up with PM

easiest thing you could do is connect the black wire to GND cable and fit a switch on 3.3v wire (i would have suggested fitting red to 3.3v cable but i'm unsure what rating the cap on scorpion is!

Ok I couldn't get the switch to work for nothing so I did this..

1. First I put Scorpion red wire to the #6 3.3v and the Black wire to the #5 Ground "Didn't Work"
2. I added a Switch on 3.3v dvd cable. Both with Scorpion Red wire hook in and not on " Didn't Work"
3. replaced those crappy Clips that it comes with and gave it some Alligator clips.... hooked them to 360 Xtractor pro 3.3v and gnd points.. "It WORKED"

At Least I got those clips off the Dvd Drive I hated that
