What type of media are you referring to ? There is no RW-DVD. There are DVD+RW and DVD-RW. Secondly, no you cannot play backups in a non-modded box. It must have been modded, either with a mod chip, a TSOP flash or a softmod. If you COULD play backups without modding the box, why would any of us even bother with mods in the first place ?
yeah if you could play backups on a non modded xbox, then you'd probably be able to use homebrew software on one too, so the only use for a mod chip would be too... add lights, and change your startup screens, lol...
