yeah, downloaded games sometimes don't work (or so I've been told?)
When you rip from an original, there's few situations (that are usually resolved quickly by the ripper people) in which it won't
If you're downloading, it behooves me to say stop.
If you're ripping from original media. Try updating your ripping software.

i have the orig. also have a 6 yr old why i got chip no more scratch or broken games,what ripping software might some one want to update if you would be so kind

Personally, I have not had a problem with DVD2XBOX ...

There are games that have "issues" playing off a HDD. Fight Club and KOTOR II are two of them, this might be another ... you might need to hide this disc from your 6yo, and play off the original 
... unles they are kicking your ass in multiplayer mode

Downloaded it... (Too lazy to rip the original? 8) )
Works fine. I didn't apply any HD fix to it...
Try to rip the game using unleashX... thats what I usually do.
