Gamertag Console Transfer Question

If I transferred a gamertag from a internal hdd from lt3.0 console to usb flash drive formatted by xbox. Then i used that gamertag for game saves off a RGE xbox would it be safe to transfer gamertag back to lt3.0 internal hdd? I didn't add any thrid party apps of any kind to usb flash drive. I only used it as a standard xbox drive.

take from them what you want, some people seem to do it and have done it for years..others wont risk it ( like me)
