my friends xbox 360 had the three red lights of death.
so i opened the 360 up an took all the heatsinks off. the thermal stuff on the cpu's was of the smallest amounts in random places on them. should that be spread evenly over them? but the thing is most of the themal stuff was not even on the top of the chips but over the edge on all the little wire legs coming off the cpu's. so anyway i just removed the stuff from the legs and put it in the middle on the top then put the 360 back together and tested... NO RING OF LIGHTS... Workd perfectly starts up all the time. but the games just keep freezing now. when i reboot the 360 comes back on fine but again the games are freezing. could it be that there is not enough thermal stuff on the chips? should i buy some arctic silver 5 and try that?
