As you can read in the topic I need a way to get the CPU Key from such a X-Box. Please tell me, there is a way...

I just realized, that now I'm able to get a NAND-Flash Kit but I think it won't work with such a new dashboard. (I just tried to get it by a regular JTAG an just get read-error what was no big surprise)
I read, that its possible by doing a reset glitch but everything I found about that was if the XBOX is already jtag(ed).

Again:
I just whant the Key so I can extract the drivekey to install a new drive (the old drive is burned :rolleyes2:)

I still wonder how difficult just a replacement of a drive can be...

I'm getting sick of my issue.

As I finally got the coolrunner I found out, that I also need the Nand-x Module. (or are that two modules)
And no one told me that.
Also here in the forum I've found some conflicting answeres...

So before I now buy a Nand-X and than realize, that I also need ... a cupcake for example ( ;) )... I want to know what I realy need for that RGH?

I just want to extract the CPU Key to get the Drive-Key. I dont care if it's after that possible to run games from harddisk or something like that...

I have:
- a CK3i
- a coolrunner

Serval computers and with that some posibilities to connect it with the x-box.

And the most important thing I got: patience

And please forgive my bad english but if there were a german support that helps I would already be done
with all my X-Box Problems. ( And

Wow garageinc - jolly nice of you - one would think that before embarking upon something as technical as the RGH, you would have done a LOT of reading up on it OP........
read read read, then ask........

I tried the search button but there are some threads about this and I want to be sure that I'm not looking about a wrong one...

Even tough I should know it better because I'm a trained IT-Technican. (In my best times I developed a Hardwarebased SCSI diagnostic device but that was more than 10 Years ago; now i wouldn't be able to build a simple digital clock... )
What I want to say is, that I'm not a complete noob and just were to lazy to find the right thrads. My fault

With your help I now have the right ones.

-----------------------------------------

The scene in germany? Very difficult I would say.
Even on a simple ROD the most people say:
"Sent it to M$ you damn noob" (translatet) what is not realy helpfull if you want to learn how to fix X-Box(es) by yourself. (Even tough a ROD is simple to fix)
I good cases some people offer to fix it for me but I want to learn! (And fixing it by another person is sometime more expensive than a full working device at ebay...)
Thats the time when I hate beein a german. It`s embarassing how greedy we are...

AND

It's also quite difficult to get Xecuter things here. Most time they don't have any on stock.

You have no idea how dump I feel by asking such silly questions. And I'm not ready with doing it :)rolleyes2:)

As I searched for the Hardware I found a Nand-X Programmer Kit what schould have all I need.
If you would be so kind to take a short look at this:
http://www.konsolenshop24.de/Nand-X-USB-Programmer-Kit-Team-Xecuter
(A stupid thing: In the shop is a pic with numbered parts and a feature table but what the parts are or named is in both two shops I found so far missing. :frown:)
I would order in UK if it would't make it much more expensive...

All this also improves my english. Belive me; I'm better in understanding english than phrasing logical sentences.

Yeah

On the international site they've posted what number is what part.

So the Nand-X programmer-kit AND the Nand-X to coolrunner update cable is what I still need.
I ask myself why the coolrunnner isn't be a part of the Programmer Kit...
(forget it: without the coolrunner its just for JTAG right?)
The cable I should be able to build it by myself if nessecary

U need a USB to nandx to update the nandx if it's v2. Ask seller if NANDx is v2 or v3

Also order nandx qsb kit
Cause the one that comes with nandx isn't for cool runner

@Uzi: Are you sure about that?
I don`t need the nandx-qsb for the coolrunner if I pick the points and solder it directly. In my case it was better without the nandx.qsb cause the solderpoints at R4B24 aren't covered with solder.
And that stupid Update Cable was#t hard to build...
Waste of time and money...

So back to topic
It went good so far till the step to write back the modified "nand.bin".

I wasn't able to do it, because nandpro said, it was unable to read the SMC.bin. (though the file was at its place)
So I first tried to re-download Nandpro and make all the file-stuff again what didn't solve my problem.

So I thought that anything around the soldering wasn't right so I looked after it.
After that I'm now at the point where I even can't read the nand (nandpro means, that there is no usb-device)
or turn on the xbox.
Today in morning I was able to turn it on for a few seconds, but because there were the wrong cables conected for the next step I shut it down again and that was the last sign of its living ...

So what now?
I'm pretty sure, that every solderpoint is properly soldered and that there ar no shorts wether at J1D2 or J2B1. I also metered every connection I need and found no error.
The PSU works good (I can start it manually) and if I connect it to the xbox the coolrunners power-led lights red if its in normal mode (what I think should be)

I beliefe it all inidcates an error in the powersupply part of the board. Maybe I accidently broke a connection on one of the capaitors even though no one dangles. My prob would there be also, that I've no possibility to take a measure of a capacitor without an osciloscope...

I still beliefe that it's not a big deal what is broken but I've no idea how to determine this problem or what went wrong...

I'll do it tomorrow but be warned: after some resoldering it doesn't look very good but I trust my voltmeter.

Sorry for answering a little late but i think i found the error and now I need a little bit of information.

I don't get any value i I meter the resistor R4B24 and so I need to replace it. But what size need this resistor to be?

But for Information here are my solderpoints:
(But ignore orange coolrunner cable to R4B24 its just a bridge to a solid iron stick so its easylier to solder)
To keep them to original size thery're hostet at my site...

All right... the xbox is done so far. But it was hard to find the post where someone told, what size the resistor needs to be.

33 ohm

----------------------------------------------------------------------

As I got errors with building the nandflash.bin I just wrote back the original-bin, caus I got what I need. The DVD / CPU Key.

Now its a little other thing that driving me crazy.
A month ago I managed to read out the dvd-key from the new drive and I also have the key from the xbox.
But now I dont even manage it to read it out again but as I understood I need the dummy.bin to change the key.

I use Jungleflasher 0.1.88 Beta and have two options (1. XP with Intel ICH9, 2. Win7-64 with Intel 6series sata-controller (If nesscesary I could find out more about this controller, but it looks like both work fine)
Combined with CK3i and Probe 3...

My proble accours at the second stage:
Code:
Drive is Lite-On..
Sending Vendor Intro to port 0xFC00
Status 0x51
Re-sending Vendor Intro:
.
Serial flash found with Status 0x52

Extracted drive key failed Verification !

PhatKey extraction failed!
I already tried to leafe it more than 5 secs before clicking OK but this doesn't work.

I know that at some point there was a trick, but I can't remeber how I got the former keys...
Or is it possible to skip this verification?

Does everybody new act so dump as me? Tell me, I can get along with the truth. :D

If you have your dvd key you don't need too doo phat key but too do that you need a probe 3 anyways if you got your cpu key and dvd key from xell then just use you dvd key manually enter it in jungle falsher and liteon erase thingy and then load your firmware file and click write and then outro your done

Have you installed your porto32 driver ? If it does not then your best getting a usb pro dor support

Would it work without the portio32 driver? Of cause I installed it. But on the 64bit system it was the 64bit driver what was e little bit harder to get...Later I'll give it a try but in no tut was written that this way also works...

I don't want to complain

but why aren't some post as helpfull as they should be?
Don't missunderstand me; the most posts are helpfull but sometimes they look like shorthand and even though I understand almost everything, it's hard to determine what they really mean. And for understanding demotic expression I need to life a few years in that ****ry. Or does any non german understands:
"Die Dreckskarre ans rennen zu bringen"? (I think everybody understands what I'm pointing at)

A more detailed post would be more helpfull in this case.
Especially a direct link to download the firmware would be better for me. So now I need to search one and hope, that its the right one.

(The most frustrating thing in this case was that someone told me to buy things I don't realy need)

But it feels like 60% outside the tuts I had to figure out by myself... (A person without any technical knowlege wouldn't be able to get rid of technical issues like mine)

Then there are the users that mean: "try search button"! Well, I'll do but if there are a few hundred matching threads and with luck two with a solution it would take days to find it.
For those user: just give them a link to the thread and mention the search function below.
(Like garageinc)
Experienced users do now, where to find the answeres, but new users just want to get ready as soon as possible.

I guess you didn't read the New forum rules post (no firmware links allowed)

use xbins #fw or #c4e. its only 30 mins since everyone had to read the new updated forum rules and your already asking people to break them by posting links,

why are you trying to extract the key off the drive? did you not save the key when you done the rgh you can input that manually into jungleflasher

edit: you stated in your first post that your drive was fried and needed key for new drive. so you certainly should not be trying to extract the key off the new drive but inputting it manually
