yes.i linked direct.are you linking direct between console and pc or going through a hub, if it's the first you'll need a cross over cable.

You cannot access the HTTP interface until XeLL has loaded.
This works well if you don't have a router.Never had an issue and I use ICS through my laptop to serve IP addresses via its built-in DHCP server.
