Yes, sorry... you'd use the slim for the whole thing. Have to take the hard drive from the phat out of the case (torx screwdriver needed) and then connect it to the slim.

You don't even really need the enclosure that is compatible with the slim. If you are careful and take your time you can connect the drive just fine.

I'll check out that security sector thing too

ok the problem with me connecting it to the slim is it reboots when i insert it to the connection then it doesn't want to load it stays at a black screen like it wants to load but doesn't ill give it a try in the nxe dash

Plug it in before turning the system on. I know it shouldn't be a problem, I took my phat hdd and put it into my slim when I got one. Worked fine

did yours come from a jtag

just plugged it in & tried booting and for 3 min. it trys to to boot but doesn't just stays on the input
a flash of white will go across my screen like it was going to load but doesn't

would booting xell help you think

its like its trying to load something from that hdd but cant

First check if you can see the hdd in Device Manager. If windows recognizes the hdd, use program like Party Buffalo or FATXplorer (although the last public version was unable to find my 20gb Seagate). If you can't see the drive in Windows or the programs throw errors when reading there's a pretty good chance your HDD is toast.

No, it came from a stock system. Perhaps there is something wrong with the drive. Do you know anybody with a phat that would let you hook it up and check it out?
