it works offline with some games, but many others like AC Revelations & Skyrim start fine but then a new error pops up (faild to authorize disk) or in the case off revelations if the message didn't pop up the graphic of the ingame seems wierd red\green lines over everything. any suggestions?

Play your originals or wait for LT+ 3. I really doubt you're gonna get any more than that. This workaround was a bit of a fluke in the first place, expecting it to work with the new dash is just silly.

I know its a fluke, yet it works like a charm which is great, im just curious about the weird graphics which is a first. I dont get it how some games work flawlessly with tu update while others start fine and then the graphics get missed up. I checked the ori disks and its fine.

not sure if im in the right place oh well, sold my 60gb phat flashed w 2.0, benq drive. simple enough right? all the games worked on it and i EXPLICITLY told the kid not to hook it up online til 3.0 is out or bad things would happen i.e. all backups wont work any more.
anyway, he goes home, plays it for awhile, and for reasons unknown, connects a patch cable from his laptop to the 360 to use windows 7 media center. watches a movie, then goes back to play a game and it wont load. just spins up then says open tray. not evena "play dvd" type error. i think its entirely possible there was an update m$ could put in thru media center. i told him to update to 14699. he says he still cant play even dvds, but audio cds play fine?!?! what happened? if i reload lt 2.0 should he be able to play backups or just wait for 3.0?

I've never heard of that but Windows Media Center should not cause your games and dvd movies to stop working. It could be the cause of a faulty laser. When you receive the silent update its when you are connected to live. I was on live and did not experience the silent update until I entered in Skyrim and than after that every other game has the same issues. You will not see "Play DVD" you will see "unrecognized disc error" and thats how you know it was the silent update. My sammy is working miracles for me now. I use windows media center all the time and the only time it asks me to update is when the "optional media update" is needed. than it would connect to live.

thanks nick, just bad luck for this guy. id been using this thing for years no problems then sell it and the laser fails instantly... damn. im going to give the guy his money back and repair the laser. just another question, is it possible to buy a benq vad6038 online and swap it out? they are really suprisingly cheap

live would force you to update to 14699 where the workaround would no longer work...would also update the title update too

here with newest dashboard and TU injection my MW3 still work. didn't tryed it on live ;) but just offline single/coop

Found that a console I had no longer boots my previously working XGD3 titles that were burned at 4x with the new Metro 14699 dash - but work just fine when re-burned at 2.4x (on MKM003's) - weird

Had to use the correct TU updates of course (if you have the wrong TU for your backup you will get Unsupported Disc type error - simply try different versions of TU until you get one that hits (don't load multiple versions of TU for the same game - use one at a time)

When you get the unsupported disc type error that doesn't mean you get flagged correct?
