Yeah, weird. I downloaded the Dark Souls game update when it prompted me on LIVE yesterday morning; played all day until 1:00 AM last night (this morning) with no problem. Then when I tried playing it again today it gave the disc unsupported error. Weird that it didn't happen immediately after the update was applied....
the xbox has to be restarted for the update to take effect

I assume the new MW3 TUs block this from working.

The only TU I can use is an old version. Any of the new TUs give me the "unsupported disc" error after clearing the cache.

The TU that I use still has the bug where when you crouch you make noise.

Yeah, makes sense. Or at least quitting the game and starting the game again; since the hiden DAE update is to stop the game from booting, and when the update was applied online the game was already booted; IDK...

All my discs are 100% ripped and burned with Burner Max F/W on an iHAS 624B. The only game it is not working with is Dark Souls, probably due to the unique "single save only" feature of that game. The game still boots but then tells you the save game does not match. You can start a new game if you want, but like I said, I am 150-hours in already, like level 135 or something...real bummer to start over...

Yes, please let me (and all of us) know. Why not just post your solution on here? Thanks. :)
Sorry, been really busy with Thanksgiving and Black friday. As soon as I get some time I'll go into the exact method for you, but basically:

You need to extract the user data from your Dark Souls save with Horizon

Start a new Dark Souls game using the TU method, and don't do anything, don't even pick up the key in the prison cell.

Now Inject the user data you extracted from your old save that no longer works into the new save game you created, rehash it to match, and you should now have your old save with all your hours put into it working on the old update =P

Hey folks quick question:

I have 2 xboxs: one I use for Live with nothing but originals, and one I use for my backups exclusively offline. If I use my memory card with my profile and MW3 gamesave to download the TUs for MW3 on my Live xbox and then take the same memory card (with profiles and gamesaves) over to my offline only xbox, will it update the dae.bin of my offline xbox?

If so, do I need to reset the cache for my memory card every time I want to use it on my offline xbox in order to keep it from updating the dae.bin?

I am pretty darn sure that you can safely move the memory card from console to console without altering the dae.bin

do you have a hard drive as well or just the memory card on the online box ?

I have a hard drive primarily for the offline console. Since the dae.bin silent update I have ONLY used my memory card on the LIVE enabled console since I assumed using my hard drive as well might complicate matters.

Hey all don't know if this was covered cuz I didn't get through the entire thread but working on it. I just got the unsupported disc, for skyrim so I then went to game options and hit install game and it is actually installing from an unsupported disc. Huh? maybe I'm missing something about how all this works but I wouldn't think you could install just anything to an xbox. So now it finished installing and still unsupported disc error trying to play from HDD with backup in.

In reality
I had this problem with MW3 for days. Here's how I fixed. go to system settings/ memory. Now hit Y and delete cache. Now same folder hit LB, RB, X, LB, RB, X select yes. System will reboot. Update system, boot game, update game. Install to HDD and play. worked for me

I used original disk, not backup

Before hand I tried flashing to stock and installing but got the error. Then flashed back to Sammy 2.01.
