By "original BIOS" you mean the BIOS that shipped on the mod chip and not the original Microsoft BIOS that was on the Xbox itself, correct?

If you don't already have FlashBIOS on the chip then you can't use a BIOS to put it on there. (chick and egg scenario) But, since your box is already modded you can use a couple different apps to flash your chip. The EvoX dashboard has a flash utility, but it only works like FlashBIOS. Starts writing at bank 1, so if you would want to flash bank 2 you would need to build a 1MB BIOS and allow bank 1 to get overwritten as well. FlashX is a nice utility that lets you pick what area of the chip you want to flash. So if you want to drop FlashBIOS in bank 2 without touching bank 1, you can do it. If you use FlashX and get confused by the fact that it shows 4 banks on screen, read the 2 banks/4 banks link in my sig.

The bank selector switch chooses if you boot from the first 512KB or the second 512KB on the chip. But since BIOSes come as small as 256KB when you look at the chip in FlashX you see 4 256KB banks. 256KB (#1) + 256KB (#2) = 512KB (bank 1) Bank 2 starts after bank 1, so use the same logic with #3+#4=Bank 2. If you want FlashBIOS selectable from switch bank 2 then you will want to flash it to the 3rd 256KB segment (#3) in FlashX. It may be required to put some sort of filler in #4, it wouldn't hurt to flash another copy of FlashBIOS there.

Yeah, FlashBIOS is built entirely on the Linux Cromwell kernel (or something like that, mainly no hacked MS software or use of the XDK) so there are no legal issues with having it hosted on a public website. Both 3.0.1 and 3.0.3 are available, slightly different versions for 1.6 compatibility.
