- ck3pro is ok, but you need compatible sata controller (VIA 6421 is recommended) or you should buy x360usbpro if you want be 100% sure it will work. Or maybe x360usbpro v.2, which is combined ck3i /newer version of ck3pro/ and usbpro.

- you should be fine with pmt conversion cable, which you can use with probe 1
I highly reccomend you reading the tutorial, even more times if you dont understand something. But as i said its pretty easy, but i dont how is you computer knowledge. If you understand tutorial, you will be fine. If you buy usbpro v.2, you should tick additional functions button in jungleflasher (dont forget to download latest version and also firmware pack). You can also find noob step-by-step instructions on this site if you need them. :wink:
Oh, and dont forget, your drive is now 02510C, dont matter what the number on your drive says!

well things didnt go well guys, sorry it took me so long to reply im always busy, anyways
I made sure everything was plugged in right green side up. It continues to do the same thing with the wires melting and smoking.
as soon as i powered on the ck3 pro a little part on dvd drive burnt out see pic below. so is there an easy fix? or do i have to buy a replacement drive try and get the dvd key? The 360 is now RRODing.
i just plugged the sata right into my motherboard, that worked before could that have been the problem? A picture of the ck3 probe 3 is attached as well

No you didn't - at least once you plugged it in upside-down or you had it connected the wrong way round on the CK3 (negating the colour check). It's quite hard to do this, so you must have really given it some force.
I hope you have the DVD key already - if not, you'll need someone to salvage this board to get it as right now, there's no other way to get the DVD key.

I did not try to continue powering it as soon as i flipped ck3 pro on it smoked i then shut it down.
do you know anyone in Ohio who can fix it and should i continue to use the probe?

You said the console now RRoDs, meaning you're either knowingly connecting a faulty component (drive PCB) to the console itself, or it's not related in any way to the problem you have now. Does the console RRoD with no drive connected whatsoever?
The cable is best put in the bin now. I don't know of many people stateside who do this repair. TeaJunkie can, but he's based in the UK.

Don't touch it, I suspect you will make it worse poking a probe in there, plus it would serve no purpose cause the board is fried.
Contact one of the guys in the trading section, I can vouch for the Mods, Admins and some of the senior members.
Ship it to one of those guys and if you ask them nicely they will extract your key from the fried board for a reasonable price, (they could e-mail it to you and bin the board - one way shipping) but I recommend asking if they will send you a newly flashed PCB with your key injected as I don't think you cut out for this stuff (upside down).

probably would be easiest to transplant the MT to a donor PCB
unless the IC gets hot when plugged in
if that's the case, its an internal short and toasted
