I have posted about this before, even when sober!!! The anim bitch really bugs me , I want her gone. The latest xbins offer is 49.3 which is where the ava slut lives. I hear there is a new version 49.3.bhlaa ..... I run my xbox into the bb (Broadband) modem. I enable DHCP and it assigns my xbox the same IP as my cp. When I choose update it says unable to conect to http/...... wtf Please help my fellow X'ers.:)

Just delete Avalaunch and then reinstall it if you still cannot get rid of the skin. I just did the update feature to another Xbox running Avaluanch and connected fine and installed updated AvaDash.

Like I said, just replace the startup screen. Most skins come with a file called bootimage.png copy it to your E:\ drive and it'll load before the Menus do.

I say delete the whole Avalaunch Dash seeing you are also having problems with the update feature. Martin’s fix is only temporary, not saying it will not fix your X-mas girl skin, cause it will work but its only a temp fix at best. There is something wrong with a config file for your Avaluanch preventing you to change the skins and to do the update. You could try replacing the configuration file "avalaunch.xml"

This isn't a config file issue - reading the original post again, it's a network issue.

before you connect the broadband modem to your Xbox, you MUST switch it off. It needs to collect your Xbox MAC address in order to work (some ISPs will only allow authorised MAC addresses to connect, which is setup on their web service).

Thank you guys, you answered most of my questions. This authorized mac address issue must be what my problem is. I do start with the xbox off, the lan flashes on the chip like a machine gun when I boot up but it doesn't connect when I choose the option. Oh well, no big deal. I will just delete the trollop.:)

Did you mean turn the modem off first or the xbox?

Try this:

Switch off modem and Xbox.

Connect Xbox to Modem.

Switch on Modem.
Switch on Xbox.

Go into Avalaunch Network settings and set to dynamic.
Reboot Avalaunch.

Do you get the newsfeed at the bottom of the dashboard on reboot? If so, you have an internet connection. If not, make sure it's a crossover cable you're using.

When i plug my laptop into my mates broadband connection i have to leave the modem off (physically unplugged from the power) for at least 60 seconds or it doesn't work.

Thanks for that :D

This ties in with the whole 'MAC address' configuration at the ISP end of your connection...
