Well Im in a bind. I just recently bought an x3 chip with the solderless adapter. I have hooked the chip up and tried to flash the chip. I thought I had succeeded in flashing it and when i restarted, it states the chip is not found. Through my research i have come to believe I have flashed the chip with the wrong BIOS. I have tried holding power and eject to get it to go to the FlashBIOS screen, but cannot get the xbox to go there. Does anyone know a solution for this. Me and my friend tried both the first and second bank on the switch and cannot figure out how to get to the FlashBIOS screen so we can flash with the correct BIOS. Any help will be greatly apprecitated.

Let me say this about getting to the backup bios.

The articles say to hold down the power and eject together, but they forgo the trick.
I notice if I press the buttons at the EXACT same time it doesn't work.
What I found is that I had to press the power button slightly before the eject button and hold them together at that point.

Now, you did NOT read the top sticky post, so here's your slap on the wrist.
We can't help you unless you help us. Give us as much info as possible before you come to us.
For example there are 7 different versions of Xbox, and the ONLY banks on the X3CE that can operate ver 1.6b are held on banks 5,6,7, and 8. This could be really touchy if you flash it b/c even the backup Bios can't help that version.

So like I said, help us help you.

Sorry about the lack of info, I was upset about the problem and was tryin to get the fastest answer. I have a version 1.4 or 1.5 that I am trying to mod. And by banks I meant the buttons one and two on my pro switch. I still cannot get it to go to the backup BIOS. Thanks for your replies.

Bah!! I have a 1.6b and X3CE, and it's all about to become fire.. plastic! I've checked my solder points a million times and they are fine. I've checked them all for continuity and that's golden too! However, when I boot, NO PICTURE! The chip fires up, and both led's bright as can be. The box still runs the MS bios fine if I hold just the power button, but I just can not get it to do squat with any combination of power/eject button pressing. Any help would be much much much appreciated!

you need to boot flashbios 3.03 for a 1.6b
set your switches to off,on,off, off (and flash protect off too)..then boot

you should see flashbios.
now WHILST STILL SWITCHED ON set the switches to on,on,off, off BEFORE you flash.
Then flash an x3 bios

On a 1.6b u only have one locatiion for 3.03 so changing switches b4 u flash make sure u do not overwrite your one and only working flashbios.

Once you have a working x3 bios installed then go into the config live and upgrade the backup bios to flashbios 3.03 too (it's currently 3.01 hence the blank screen).

You will then get the backup to work .
