Getting Unbanned from XBL

aight im tryin to help out a friend get unbanned from xbl. now im gonna explain my situation.

His stock HD was crappin out on him, so he put in his 40gb hd, locked and then thats when he got banned. he even put in his stock hd and still wasnt able to get connected.

I have an unbanned xbox but the problem is the motherboard is shot. i read in the configmagic tutorial this

GETTING THE EEPROM FILE FROM THE UNBANNED XBOX
1. In EvolutionX, do the "Backup" command in the Utilities menu. It will generate files about your Xbox specs.
2. FTP in your Xbox, or use a file manager tool, and in C:\\Backup, you will find a file called EEPROM.BIN
3. FTP that to your PC HD or remember its location for future reference.

would i be able to just solder in the Unbanned EEPROM onto the banned xbox and get the info that way or am i bit outta luck here?

any and ALL info will be appreciated greatly.

**NoTE- he's got an Xecuter 3 Modchip

Has your unbanned xbox with the shot motherboard ever been on xbox live?
If it has then you need to give up the hard drive that's "Married" to it.

Your friend need to replace the unbanned EEPROM and Hard Drive to get back on.
