Going from Unmodded Xbox to Xbox Media Center

Okay I bought an Xbox 360 a few months ago and I've had my Original unmodded untouched Xbox sitting there for a while now and I've decided I want to mod it to turn it into a media center to play Divx files on my TV.

I don't have any exploit games or the action replay stuff.

What is the easiest tutorial to connect it up to the PC to mod the drive and take my xbox from an unmodded one to a media center one?

Can I use the existing drive in the xbox at the moment?

Because I only want to watch episodes of shows, nothing big.

You'll have to use a modchip, a softmod, or a TSOP mod. The easiest/cheapest way is a softmod. Here's a link to the tutorial I wrote that will help you get started.
