GENERAL Going into the Slim Modding market - Need few questions answered.

I did research on modding slim drives and I have learned that there are two types of drives.
1) MXIC
2) Winbond

MXIC can be easily modded with the SPUTNIK360 Tools. There are two kinds of Sputnik360 tools I came across
First Hardware
The Probe -

My question is; Is the probe able to unlock write protect on a vast number of slim drives? or is it one probe per drive?

The SPUTNIK360 unlock switch which I believe is a permanent mod to a slim drive and it will stay on it, basically only able to mod one drive with one of the unlock switch. Am I correct on this?

Regarding the Winbond Drives
For modding Winbond drives; I will need
Hardware #1 - An Unlocked DG-16D4S Board

An unlocked DG-16D4S board that will replace the drive's hardware and give me access to write the LT+ firmware.

Hardware #2 - The Pro Kit / Chip Replacement
I can do the pro mod by soldering and replacing the chip.
I believe that the soldier & replace chip (or board) is for winbond drives only?

2) u can do the unlock board or the kamikaze hack by drill/soldering,knife.

sputnik probe can be used on multiple mxic drives

winbond drive you can perform the kamikaze hack with soldering iron, dremel or knife. the pro kit/chip replacement is no longer available.

Thanks guys, I will start researching what the Kamikaze HAck is =)
and I guess I'll order a few probes so I can start getting into the slim xbox market. =)

YOU only need 1probe.
its used, time & time again. If you are installing Sputnik switches, then you need 1 for every drive you're modding :rolleyes2:

and its always better to have backup probes lying around =)
