Flashed a lite on but burned games not working.

Can anyone explain if they have had this problem? i have flashed a 7 series lite on, when i opened, it was filthy, dusty and all. The thing is all originall games work but no burnt games. (LT+ firmware and verbetim discs). I have a feeling the lense either needs cleaning or it is not stong enough. Should i change the lense or the whole drive itself?

The following is taken from The Firmware Mod - A beginner's Guide (which can be found on JungleFlasher.net on the downloads page):

Weak Laser
Often following a flash some drive will not play burned media. With Hitachi in particular this is due
to a weak Laser or at least the Laser not being optimised to read burned media. There is a method
for trimming/adjusting the Laser to increase the power and therefore improve the Lasers ability to
focus.

I get this all the time (drive reads originals but not burned media). If adjusting the potentiometer doesn't work you'll need to replace the laser (or get a new drive, which will have a working laser).

Since you're flashing LiteOn drives, you may also want to read through this. I always disconnect the ribbon cable when flashing LiteOn drives just in case.

did you flsh with lt+ or lt+1.2 cos lt+ had issues with reading discs on some drives

i agree as said above try reflash the drive with lt + 1.1 see if this solves the disc problem it did for me anyway

i flashed with LT+ 1.1, it was for a lite on 74850c. What now then? change the laser? or the whole drive?

Did you try the pot. tweak? Did you check the inside of your drive for loose or damaged ribbon cables?

silly Q; but have you tried diff discs?? but to be honest id buy a new lazer for about £7
