Hey All--I have this question that I hope has a simple answer. My "new" xbox with dash 6717 born on 1-8-2008 has a "bad" KV. last night I dumped the NAND with Nand-X(badass by the way) and the CB is exploitable from what I can tell. My problem started after writing Xell to the Nand---On the reboot(with the eject button) I got E79...so I rechecked solder points and all was fine---still the same issue. I wrote the original Nand back and everything was back to normal. I've desoldered everything and now it's back to stock---I don't think this is a lost cause but I'm not that savvy about key values. I just read the Tuts. I tried looking for someone else with this problem and had no luck finding any---I hope this isn't a double post. I've attached some screen shots that I hope will help all you brilliant minds out there---Thanks for this great community

It must have been something related with the Jtag wires and QSB. Did you move the switch on the Jtag QSB to 0 or 330/470 ? Or you left it at OFF ?

Thank you for the quick response...Yes I moved the switch to all 3 positions. I tried to do every configuration possible with the switch---whether it was right to do or not i don't know. I would move the jumper and than the switch to all positions and I also tried without the jumper at all. I didn't try to to write with xellous--I heard that fixes the bad blocks on the fly---not sure that fixing that bad block would make any difference. I've done wii's with many bad blocks and it didn't seem to make any difference--I don't know if the same rules apply to the xbox or not. I'm glad you didn't say it wasn't vulnerable though---that actually made my day just now

Well...The thing is that you desoldered everything. Anyways, if you still want to Jtag the console, start again, and this time discuss the process here as you proceed so that we can correct/troubleshoot if anything goes wrong.

Take some pictures of the install, You say you wrote back the original dump and it was normal, do you mean it boots ? If so you have a good kv.

I'm sorry about my lack of details---and thank you everyone for helping me out. When I wrote the original NAND back it booted like normal. I'm using the newest JTAG tool with 12625 dash---The last jtag i did i used the 12611 dash and LPT(it took forever but worked fine). I've heard there have been a few problems with the xenons and the new jtag tool---I haven't heard about anything with the falcons. I'm out of town for the night...but tomorrow I will resolder everything back---hopefully permanently this time. I'll get some pictures up if I'm stilled jammed up after the install. Thank you guys very much again--I'll keep you posted on my progress

OK----problem solved---I didn't get home until late last night but I decided to try the pin header install this time and it worked immediately---Nandx has saved me days of waiting---what an awesome thing. I still have no idea what went wrong the first time but now it's time to make the DVD drive do tricks and then figure out if my son gets the Xenon or the Falcon? Thank you everyone for being there and all the quick responses-------Jeremy

^ OK...

Have fun with your Jtag! ;)
