As always I'll start by thanking team Xecutor and if there's anything I can do to repay my noobish debt to this society please let me know, I saw some members posting in Spanish, I am bi lingual in English and Spanish for what it's worth guys I can translate or whatever,
So I have a few more questions for u guys any response is appreciated,
First are updates to games, is it safe to update xci or nsp games through the normal method on the home screen?
Secondly... I tried downloading retroarch but all I got was a 7z file? And I put it in the root but it didn't do anything. I did that with lithium and that popped up so ... Any help?

For game updates you can do it thru switch menu, but at some point you will get baned. It won’t allow any connection between you’re switch and Nintendo services.
You can get update elsewhere online(not here) and than install it thru SX installer.

Thanks for the reply, I am using a second switch for this, like with a dummy account, does that matter?

Nintendo bans the Switch itself as far as I know. The account does not matter. If the other Switch is also modded then it will be banned eventually.

As for RA, did you download the Switch version from their site? It should be an nro file that you would just put in the switch folder on your SD.

Oh ok I didn't find an nro I got a 7z I'll look tonight thanks!!

All I keep getting is that .7z file do I change it to .nro?

.7z is a zip file. Just download 7zip to extract it.
