got bios on computer

alright i got my bios on my computer like how they said it from the xbox scene.
i have in rar format and how do i put it on my xbox now i tried doing it renaming the file bios.bin i have the new evelutionxv2.1.rar and i tried putting it on my xbox and i have no fricken idea can some one help me

a little FYI:

.rar files are a bit like .zip files, but...(i dont want to say better)...different

www.rarlabs.com will let you download rar files.

There is, of course, allways the article on the front page of the site under the Quick Help section entitled How To Use WinRar

personally I've been using Winrar for years now adn i think the actual program is better than Winzip never mind the algorithm.

Strange thing tho, i was working on a win98 PC a couple of weeks ago and every time i tried installing winrar it BSOD'd on me. Winzip (sadly) isntalled fine.

You most certainly do !!

The .RAR file you download contains both the normal and 1.6 ver of the BIOS plus an eraser program.

You only need to use one .BIN file - you cant FTP it across, you need to open a browser window and type in the IP address the Xbox gives you. The rest is self-explanitory.

Not sure if this is sarcasm or question ...but yes unrar the x3_1959.rar.

you will get 2 bin files and a readme.txt + a folder containing a .xbe program to erase your x3 (only if things go horribly, horribly wrong)

The readme contains the info you need on selecting which bios to flash

No it wasnt sarcasm...ive never heard of winrar or a .rar file for that matter.
I dont really even use winzip...

But thanks everyone!
