Okay i have got everything, the chip, Xbox, Hard Drive, Soldering Iron, Aid 3.

Now just a few questions:

1.After i solder the chip to my Xbox, and then switch it on i must see a blue screen and the Xbox must not frag, this means the chip is working.

2. Now after the chip part is done i am going to put the AID3 dvd in and use its FTP program, How do i do this, like on my PC what do i need to do there, i want to put my game saves there and then put back on the new hard drive?

3. I have a 300Gig hard drive, how should i set it up?

Like i know the MS hard drive has a " C: E: F:" drives, you see i want to back up all my games to this hard drive so what ratio sohould i set it up as?

Like, C: 100 gig,.... E: 100 gig,... F: 100 gig?

What would you recomend?

4. And where should i then store all my games and apps like "DVD 2 Xbox", like the C: drive or what?

All help with this would be great.

Okay i just followed this http://www.xbox-scene.com/versions_1.php tut and i have a "Xbox v 1.6b".

So i should download the "x2 5035 v16 plus for v1.6b xbox" for my Xbox?

Also I am going to get it from Xbins (And i know when you donload it it comes with 2 files "x2 5035 for v1.0 to v1.5 xboxs
x2 5035 v16 plus for v1.6 to v1.6b xboxs) so after i download it all i do is burn "x2 5035 v16 plus " file to a disk?

Is this right? Do i need to do anything else to the BIOS file?

If you have a home network, hook the Xbox up to that and flash via http. Yes, you want to use the v16plus file. It is already 512k, so there is nothing else you need to do.

ok in bios config enable G:/ to be used
yes you will have both f and g
Okay...so if enable drive G: then drives C, E, F will be created also?

And can i set how much space each drive has or is it set auto, like will all the drives "C:, E:, F:" all have the same ratio as the original Xbox hard drive and then the rest of the space will be given to drive G:?

One more thing, should i install the dashboards and backup my games to the G: drive then?

dash install in E:/ or F:/ you will have to edit the x2config ini file to boot to what ever you do the x2config file go into E:/ folder you ftp it there
eg
; 255 characters max here, format is <drive>:<path_to_xbe>.xbe, e.g. "f:dashes\avalaunch.xbe"
; keep all paths lowercase just in case you have any issues with dashboards booting
dash1Name = e:xbmc.xbe
dash2Name = e:avalaunch.xbe
dash3Name = e:unleashx.xbe
dash4Name = e:evox.xbe
dash5Name = c:xboxdash.xbe

as well bump up fan speed
eg
speed of xbox fan, value 10 equals 20%, value 50 equals 100%
fanSpeed = 25

25 is 50% if your in a hot place you may need to go higher it depends on were you are you can set it to 20 if you like if in cool place

if you use AID3 pick the install dash E: F: G: option when installing dash then install dvd2xbox into F: folder it will ask were you wish to install it
when you go to use dvd2xbox it will ask you were to put games place them into F: till it full then G: the dash will pick them up were ever they are
eg dvd2xbox were to save
F:
F:games/
G:
G:games/

once you install dash and apps you will get the hang of it
but if you need to ask ??? just ask??

What do you mean by "you will have to edit the x2config ini file", do i have to edit that file and how do i edit it, like do i edit it on my Xbox itself or do i need to use a Computer for that?

And for FTPing can i use that MS Xbox System Link Cable, to connect my Xbox to my PC?

Thanks for all the help.

when you get x2 5035 bios theres ax2 config file with download when you unzip it just right click on it and use "open with" note pad or word pad then find the setting us above and retype them you can make a copy of x2config first so if you mess up you can fix it
eg
old x2 config
dash1Name = c:evox.xbe
dash2Name = c:avalaunch.xbe
dash3Name = c:unleashx.xbe
dash4Name = c:xbmc.xbe
dash5Name = c:xboxdash.xbe

new one you edited config
dash1Name = e:xbmc.xbe
dash2Name = e:avalaunch.xbe
dash3Name = e:unleashx.xbe
dash4Name = e:evox.xbe
dash5Name = c:xboxdash.xbe
then save it then ftp it to your xbox place it into E"/ folder as is

DJBOOBY, i got someone to install the X2.6 chip for me and it is working. Now the thing is i followed that guide on how to use Xbins and flashftp and i log'd on okay i searched under PC and Xbox for the BIOS for the X2.6 chip but i can't find anything that maches

"x2 5035 v16 plus", so is there any thing i could do?

Also is it really required to edit that file?

Like if i install the dashboards with that "AID3" and select where to install it to, won't it work?

Or is that file need'd to be edit'd so i can choose with dashboard to boot to?

When burning AID3 to a disk do i just burn it as a "data dvd" or an "Image disk"?
