green flashing red

hi guys, got a problem with me xbox.
i have an xecuter 2.6. with no solder adaptor.

the chip was installed over twelve months ago, and up till now not had any problems with it. but now

when i switch on it, it comes on with a green light then resets, then green light then resets, and then green light and then red flashing light.

first thoughts were the adaptor not sat on main board proply, or the d0 not in right, but both are ok, ive put the chip in another xbox that i no works fine, and same problem.

would re-flashing and a new install of slayer solve this problem, or am i looking at a new chip.

any suggestions ?

Check the switches according to Big_Whoopin's post. I doubt the chip would just die, unless there is more to the story you aren't telling us.

ive tried the switches, i swapped the switch bank and wires with another chip,

the xbox had'nt been used for a few months, then when it was switched on i would'nt work.

could it be a fault with the eeprom chip and not the xecuter, or should i try a re-flash

ive tried another chip in the xbox and that has the same fault and this chip is defo working in me other xbox

did you mess with any settings of the box prior to it fragging?
if not, then get a mutimeter out and test the switches
