Does anyone know what the green wire controls on the dvd board? I had to solder to a different solder point due to lifted pad. And am only getting open tray error now.

you mean this one here that says TRAY IN? http://i.imgur.com/ZAzznhf.png

any of those red points should be ok to solder to. are you able to open and close the drive? it just says open tray (as if there was no disc), whenever you put any disc in? sounds like maybe something else could be damaged, or not connected properly. i'd recheck all ribbon cables and soldering. if you're stuck maybe post a picture of the bottom of the drive without the shell and someone might see something you missed.

Yes. Thats the exact pad. So I scraped off the solder mask to the point directly behind it and added solder to it and soldered the wire to it.

Ok I finally got it working I just desoldered the two loading wires (red and black) and resoldered this time to get a better connection and it works.
