We like what we've seen of GTA 5's single player, but the multiplayer is still a bit of a mystery. Thankfully, the mists are clearing. In a brief aside during a post about Max Payne 3 (spotted by the fine folk of Gameranx), Rockstar has promised to release concrete details shortly. "We haven't detailed the features of Grand Theft Auto V's online mode as yet (stay tuned for first info soon)," it reads, "but there's already a whole slew of Crews rallying, preparing and raring to go - with some creating some pretty impressive emblems along the way inspired by the artwork and information we've revealed about the game thus far."

Crews - multiplayer clans, basically - created for Max Payne 3 will transfer over to GTA 5 once the game goes public. According to studio co-founder Dan Houser, the game has "deeper and richer" multiplayer than "what's currently available".

"The beauty of this system is that crews persist over time and across future games," he explained. "Multiplayer is an ever-more important part of all our games moving forward, and by creating crews through Social Club the crews that you create in Max Payne 3 will be ready and available for you to play in Grand Theft Auto V from day one.
"It's all part of our larger approach to make multiplayer deeper and richer than what's currently available, much more easily accessible to the newcomer and rewarding for the hardcore."
Here's a batch of GTA 5 gameplay details for your inspection. Any particular hopes for the online stuff?
Update - Alive Game Zone is rumouring that Rockstar will hold a GTA 5 multiplayer event in Russia on 23rd May.
