Ok, installed the new X3 chip no problem.

The initial boot up screen is NOT as per this guide:

http://www.teamxecuter.com/flashbios.htm

1. The CD tray does NOT automatically eject when the unit is turned on.
2. The WHOLE of X2 BIOS instructions are irrelevant as the bios you download is 1024bytes already NOT 256k.

ANY CHANCE OF SOME DECENT INFO PLEASE ??????

There are 4 options in the bottom half of the screen:

- Unlock HD
- Burn BIOS
- 2 other i cant remember.

No IDEA how to select any of these (the pads dont work tried all the buttons)

Be great if some kind person can post a working FAQ and delete the wrong links to the X3.

thanks

try another controller - the guide is the same - just apply what it tells you - its common sense really (instead of 256k bios just use the 1mb bios - thats the only difference) and instead of auto eject you just select Flash from disc. pretty simple stuff. I will update the guide tho - i imagined it was basic and straightforward as everyone else has managed to follow it.

tried both controllers (even though they both work absolutely fine) exactly the same.

Would also be usful if the new X3 guide specified the dip swich positions to save having to trawel throgh 950 pages.

Beginning to wish I'd bought the X2.

cheers

take out any memory cards or anything plugged into your controller. i had a mad catz memory card plugged into my controller, and i couldn't select anything in the menu when the memory card was in. as soon as i took it out, i could select!

http://www.teamxecuter.com/index.php?name=Forums&file=viewforum&f=46

forum that says X3 FAQ

second sticky from top says X3 switch settings

950 pages - sure......

and your X2 install woruld have been exactley the same and the FlashBIOS would have been the same

no idea why your controllers are not working for you tho - if they are original MS controllers id like to test that myself

hurrah fixed the controller issue.

Now every time the box boots up it loads the setup screen. I've ftp'd a gameover to the box but how the heck do i access it to make it run ?

does the switch positions matter (with everything off i get the setup screen)?

Once you have everything the way you like it in ConfigLive. Set it to Disable at boot. It will then boot to your selected boot order in the bios config.

YOu may need to install a dashboard if you havent done so already, such as evoX or Avalaunch , then use these to lad games and other applications. the x3cl isnt designed to run your xbox, just to configure it.

ABGX switches ssv2 to ssv1 when autofixing

ok so i'm using a spare 360 drive flashed with 0800 firmware to rip a backup. it rips fine and then i run the iso through abgx and it sees it as ssv2 (trusted) and says ss looks valid, but then when it gets to verification it autofixes and turns it to ssv1. absoultely everything checks out fine and passes, it just for some reason switches it from trusted ssv2 to ssv1 during verification. does anyone know why this might be? should i just not autofix after ripping with 0800 because i read on another topic that it's pretty much safe when using a 360 drive?

if ripping yourself - just check it for general stealth using abgx dont worry about online verification part
(click disable write on main page) that way it wont alter any of your stealth files!
