Hello,

Basically i have a new motherboard that is likely to have the full number of pin headers (a 1.6 xbox). I do not want to desolder the whole lot to remove a pin head. Its got the old rebuild so it would be messy!

Does it sound feasible that i could saw away the pin header not needed on 1.6?

I'm guessing if it does not make contact with board its not used?

Thanks in advance.

you could try a pair of flush cutting side cutters and VERY CAREFULLY snip the pin off flush with the plastic part of the pin header then it shouldn't make contact with the chip. Hope this helps. 8)
