Halo Movie

I was reading the Bungie update and they have decided/sighned with FOX and somebody else [Wernor Bro's?] to produce the Halo Movie. They already have the writen part done, I can't wait till it comes out unless its going to be another cliff hanger like Halo 2, that part sucked.

They gave microsoft 5mil for the rights, then the article mentioned the doom movie which is "doomed" to suck so we will wait and see.

i really get the feeling the halo movie is gonna turn out to be a piece of crap. For some reason almost no video games turn into half decent movies. i really hope i'm wrong on this because a halo movie is probably a really great idea if they do it properly. Doom was also a great idea for a movie but i get the feeling it's also gonna blow. I'm mean like come on the rock is the star?

Resident Evil wasn't too horrible...

Which is funny because the game had such a great story that screamed "Movie" all over it... and Hollywood still f-ed it all up!

I think that doom would be better than halo... but they'll try to make doom a horror movie... but keep it PG so they don't loose their target audience... and it will be stupid

Halo will just be directed by a bunch of guys that have never played Halo...

i agree completely about how doom is gonna be one of those bad pg movies. Far too many times now "horror" movies have been released as pg13 or whatever so a bunch of kids can go watch the movie. When in actuallity if the movie had gone for an r rating it probably would have been alot better. Resident evil is a perfect example of this in my opinion. When i first heard a resident evil movie was coming out i was hoping for something that was gonna be extremely violent with gore.. instead i find this pg movie that could have been alot better.

the script was written by the guy who wrote the day after tomorrow from what i read......and universal is the other company that bought the rights.....and since m$ is making sure to have controll over how things go i dont think itll be too bad like the one guy said about it being directed by ppl that have never played halo......and who cares the music is going to be awesome in a theater....ill just keep my eyes closed the whole time if it sucks and enjoy the audio....and also have yall heard that its not coming out till at least summer 2007 and rumors are that m$ wants to launch halo 3 along with it.......which sounds more realistic then the ps3 launch....or the game would probably suck if it were done in less then 2 years

Actually, I read that MS has a huge Halo universe bible that lays down the rulz of the halo universe. Part of the contract binds the producers to the bible in developing the film. People writing Star Trek novels are bound to a similar bible. That doesnt mean a great film will be produced, but well hopefully keep MC from lighting a smoke in a vacume, or having sex with Cortana.

you guys should read the halo books, there are three of them.

the first one covers how master chief was discovered as a child along with other potential spartans and where then trained severly. they go on some cool missions, shoot stuff, blow up other stuff, and people die etc.... its a really good book.

the second book is pretty much the halo one game but with more detail and it was written by a different author than the first book. this 2nd book sucked, in my opinion.

the third book was written by the 1st original author and it was really good again. this one covers what happens between the game halo 1 and halo 2 and is a excellent story.


so read the books, they is some good stuff, but only if you acutally know how to read.. or if you like to read...

PS: in the first book they describe what master chief actually looks like underneath his helmet and armor....

i was at the cinema like a month ago and i seen this advert before the movie that looked like halo. It had a the planet and the ring but it wasn't called halo is was something else it began with a "s" i really cant remember it was something like spectrum or some sh*t it was only on for like 5 seconds
