Halted flash causes FRAG?

OK, so I have a 1.0 box, and a 2.6 with a wire install. All was working well and then one day it started doing the typical three reboots, then FRAG from time to time.
To make a long story short, one of the wires came loose and caused the chip to FRAG. I resoldered all the wires (solder job was good) and then reboot the box, and it still does the three boots then FRAG.
So, I bought a new 2.6CE chip, plugged it in this morning, everything seems to be cool, boots into FlashBIOS and everything.
Since I could turn off the chip and see from the MS dash that all my stuff was still on the hard drive, I figured I could just flash the BIOS, and be good to go with Avalaunch, just like nothing had happened.
I got the xecuter2 build 4978.03 BIOS and went to do HTTP flash, and it gave me Unknown Flash! Halting! which I found weird because I remembered to to turn flash protect off.
So I turn off my box and now when I go to turn it on, it does the same three boot and FRAG, and it does it on both banks.

I'm stuck as for what to do, I figure the BIOS is boned, but how? And why? And most importantly, how am I going to fix it?

First off, you used the wrong bios. You want X2 5035. That isn't the problem here though. My guess is your problem is with your switches or the wires going to them. Use a multimeter to check them. There is a link in my sig.

Breaking out the multimeter, I found all the voltages to be spot on except Pin 1 - LCLK, which read out at 1.58 V, not sure what to make of that.
For resistance, pins 3, 6, 8, 10, 11, test at .3 ohms, I can't tell precisely which point to test for pin 12 (the one I think the diagram points to gives me a reading of 19.2 ohms), and pin 2 is giving me varying readings in the kiloOhm range. All the other pins give me a zero resistance reading.

Now what?

(I just find it massively weird that it could be a connection when it DID boot into FlashBIOS, and only died after the flash halted and I reset the box.)

Whiskey Tango Foxtrot...after testing it, I hooked everything back up with the switch and cable that came with the new chip and it booted into FlashBIOS.

Now, let's see if I can not screw this up again.

It does trouble me that only the chip enable LED is lighting up now though, if it works though I can live with it.

Flip the LED enable switch on the switches. It is sometimes labeled backwards.
