ok i know youve already put up that when it says halting that it is flash protected but i have checked and re checked that the chip isnt flash protected...so when i flash a file that is 1 mb it says got bios- image over http.262144 bytes unknown flash! halting then when i use a file that isnt the right size i guess it says invalid size

Help flashing Hitachi 78?
I'm trying to flash my Hitachi 78 but I'm having a problem.
My computer won't boot windows with the SATA cable plugged into my xbox. It will only run if the SATA cable is plugged into the computer.
I was able to get the drive into mode b with slax, but I just can't run windows.
When I try to boot with the SATA cable plugged into my hitachi I get a black screen that says something about
"Media test failure, check cable
Exiting Intel Boot Agent.
Insert boot disk and press any key"
I'm a kinda a noob when it comes to this stuff, so help would really be appreciated.

just use jungle flasher it has a mode b button for all hitachi drives.
slax disc is not needed.

you need to use the primary sata port on your mobo move the hdd to another port and use that one
or if using via card use the one on the inside closest to fron of pc

yep. I hate Hitachi drives only did one of them but that was 1 too many, plus it was a 79 so I had to use the unlock cd big pain in the assmightywiz said:
