Now I own a box with an X3 installed. What I got it to do was (or done automatically for me, I don't know) was whenever I accessed the chip, my XBMC and/or X3CL sets my IP to Manual. I use that as a failsafe so that I don't access Live when I am using the mod. My service doesn't like me using Manual IPs, so when I do want to go on Live, I just go onto the Live Dashboard (with the mod off of course) and set my IP back to Automatic. Full proof right?

Now about that banhammer that the people at Bungie are wielding thinking they are Thor and all. It has been stated before by so many other posters that the hammer checks your C: and your maps to see if they are modified. Well of course my maps haven't been touched, but I have my XBMC.xbe and my evox.xbe on my C:. And maybe a couple more issues on it that don't compromise my ability to play on Halo 2. I don't cheat 'cause I love ****ing with cheaters (if I try really hard). Haven't been banned yet, but if it's an issue, can someone tell me now so I can move them out? Thanks.

Why not have your "legal bios" set to banks 1234 and have your "other bios" set to 5678. That way you know if you want to go on XBL, you just flip to banks 1234. The official X3 bios won't let you sign into XBL or even FTP, so there's no worries there. You get into trouble using other dashboards like evox that will let you connect to live with the chip on<--many have done this on accident and got banned that way.

Also, make sure your M$ dash isn't set to auto-sign-in (don't even check without unplugging your ethernet cable first).

... I think you lost yourselves guys. Setting the M$ dash to the first bank will still require the chip to be on. If the chip is on, then they will know and they will ban you anyhow.
As I said earlier, I go on Live with the chip disabled. Not taking risks then.

All I wanted to know is does that wretched Hammer of Thor reads stuff like the Xbox Media Center Dashboard or the EvoX Dashboard on the C:. I just need that answer and I should be on my way. Thanks

There is no proof yet that MS have the ability to check if the BIOS loaded is from the TSOP or the LPC.

If they cannot (and all proof so far indicates this), then loading a normal retail BIOS from your chip should NOT result in a ban. This is not gospel but since I've spoken with numerous people who use live from a retail BIOS on their chip, I have to assume it's safe to do so.

If I had xboxlive, to make it completely xboxlive safe I would:

Connect the original stock harddrive and the upgraded games & apps harddrive to the xbox with an extended IDE cable, solder the + 5V hdd power wire from the psu to the middle pole of a toggle switch, the +5v wire of stock harddrive to the other pole, and the +5v of the games &apps upgraded harddrive to the other pole. (There's a diagram of how to do this on xbox-scene.com) It's supposed to toggle wich harddrive you use.

Then I would extend the connection that gives power to the chip to the games & apps harddrive's side of the toggle switch so that when the chip is off, the stock harddrive is being used and it is completely safe to go on xboxlive. When the chip is on, you use your upgraded harddrive that has all the games and apps on it.

I think if you were to mod the DVD & HDD caddies and cut a rectangle out of the top of the shielding on the right and the plastic casing grill on the right you could probably fit both harddrives inside the case sideways.

Also, I think there's an option with the X3ConfigLive to disable Auto xboxlive login or something like that, so when the chip is on, it shouldn't connect to xboxlive. Also I would do the same with the ms dash, or just delete it from the upgraded harddrive since you probably won't use it with the chip on anyways if you have unleashx.

That's actually what I thought of doing. But I'm quite cheap and that's why I got an X3 to use that D0 and take the risks. Not banned yet, I'm surprised. It's almost beautiful.

I could've sworn someone shot a Banshee at me on a level last night though...
