So what exactly is the point of Jtagging?

When I heard about Jtagging, I heard that it lets you put DLC and XBLA games on your 360 and I thought that was really awesome. But then I found out you have to have an older kernel version. But without the newest version, can't you not play newer games anyway, meaning you can't get the DLC for them either? So what can you do with a Jtagged 360? Does the kernel version not matter for even the newest arcade games?

Sorry if these are stupid questions, I know I don't really know much about this, but that's why I'm asking. I have the newest custom firmware and my kernel is 8599, which I know doesn't work with Jtag. But is anyone working on making a Jtag work with 8599?

Re: So what exactly is the point of Jtagging?

when flashed with xbreboot it will install a modified dash that is
2.0.8955 so all games will play.

problem is if you took the 8955 update it burned the efuse
and you cannot recover the cpu key to hack the xbox.
