I have gotten a new motherboard. But the hard drive that I am trying to use is till the same one that I had. WHen I try to boot it, it gives me error 6. I know that I need the original mobo to unlock it. But I dont have that mobo anymore. Plus I didnt install the chip yet to my XBOX. WHat can I do in this case. Will installing a X3 help to get my hdd to work with the new mobo?

Getting Identical Nand Dumps??

Hi, I'm trying to dump the nand on my Xbox 360 and I'm having trouble with it. I have an Xbox with the xenon board, and the old dashboard on it. I have my jtagged all wired up using the RJ45 method, and all my solder points look good. I have the 100ohm resister solder directly to the parallel cable plug, and the one diode solder directly to the board. I dump the nand over 4 times, and I get 16 differences every time. So, I tried piece by piece method, and read the nand in 16 parts. I dumped each part twice, and they all matched except for the last one 16. I dump this one a number of times, and still no match. It always has one difference according to total commander. It's driving me crazy, and I just can't figure it out. Also I got a total of two block errors, and of coarse their too in last part "16". I'm not too worried about the errors those, cause their the same on every dump, so I can just use block mover fix those later. What could possibly be causing the dumps not to be identical? Is it possible for one of the resister or something to be bad? I just don't get why all the parts match up except for the last one. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Getting Identical Nand Dumps??

you should have 2 diodes soldered on the motherboard and 1 jumper.

follow this link for instructions on the jtag hack.... it gives step by step
instructions for hooking it up.

Re: Getting Identical Nand Dumps??

Yea, I got the jtag part already hooked up. I'm stuck on the nand dumping part still though. I redid all my connections with solid core (single) wire, and made a new jatag cable with solid core wire and all new resistors, for the heck of it. I still get the same results :( I'm still getting two read errors and 1 difference in the dump. The difference is on the very last line of the nand dump. I've dump a number of times, and still the very last line has 1 difference. I also tried adding a second ground (same results) I'm running out of ideas, what could possible be causeing this problem??

Re: Getting Identical Nand Dumps??

Well I just said screw it, and flashed my box with the xbr.bin It had two write errors at the place where I had the two read errors. But, it boots up and seems to work just fine. :D
