So I had a jtaged jasper that takes any size hdd. I just format it in NXE and start using it as a regular xbox harddrive. I decided to switch to slim RGH xbox. But it won't take the drive.

I have 3 Slim RGH xbox and none of them will see the drive. However, my Jasper sees the hdd just fine.

Am I missing anything?

some notes:

_Official 250GB hdd works just fine , so it can't be the wire.

_I have 2 different 500GB 2.5 5400RPM samsung drives that both give me the same result so it can't be the HDD.

_I have 3 RGH slims with 2 different Dashes and they all don't detect the drives, so it can't be the console or the dash version. (2 are up to date , 1 still has the previous dash)

_I have a jasper that has no problem with any of the HDD's so I am 100% it isn't the drives, or the way they are formated.

_The drives dont' show up at all in RGH formated or otherwise, not even in freedash.

And that is why I am losing sleep over this :frown:

Are you connecting the HDD to the slims in EXACTLY the same way as the phat console?

eg I'm guessing it's an internal HDD on the phat, so are you plugging it into the internal bay on the slims?

I use the original case for both the slim and hdd to plug it just like you would plug an original internal hdd.

so what I do is open the enclosure for the phat put the hdd in , connect and plug it in the xbox. and it boots just fine. I then remove it , put it in the case of the slim hdd and plug it in and it wont' see it .

I wish I had a different brand or model hdd to test and see if that would make a difference.

could it be that the stock hdd has different power requirement, and maybe other hdd require more power?

according to mafia 50 on this thread (http://team-xecuter.com/forums/showthread.php?p=510396) when he plugs the hdd to a external power it kinda of fixes it.

if that is the case can I bridge the power to somewhere on the board to get more juice?

ok I think I might of figured it out. I just swapped the power brick and now they all work. Any idea why that would make a difference specially since everything works just dandy with the old power brick (except for the non-stock drives )

I hope this helps any1 else who is having similar problems.
