Yes, any hard drive will work..However there are brands that are more compatible with xbox, review the list of drives on the link provided by biggen6776 for the most compatible as well as lockable drives.

the hard drive doesn't need to be lockable, but if its not lockable, then if you go on xbox live with it, you'll get banned.
