Yes, any hard drive will work..However there are brands that are more compatible with xbox, review the list of drives on the link provided by biggen6776 for the most compatible as well as lockable drives.

BTW wuz up biggen, still not sure whats going on for tonight..I will let ya know if we get together..

yes, to use xbox live you need to lock the drive..you will be banned if you don't..and also to load the M$ Dash you need to lock the drive.

from what i heard... u will get banned from xbox live if u use a new upgraded hard drive when u previously registered your xbox live account on a stock xbox hdd! BEWARE ;)

ok im still trying to aclimate to new things for computers...the cache is transfer speed?
8mb is better than 2mb because of more room for transfer?

ive been watching those threads alot and just figured the heck with XBL i just play with people down the street anyways...

If i put it in and it works...cool. if it doesnt...oh well.

Cache Is like a temporary store a buffer if you like The info goes to the cache similar to memory and then is written to the hard disc thus making the data transfer rate faster
