I can get for like $5, the JMB361 on my mobo is NOT compatible.
I would agree with the others and recommend getting the usbpro.

However: if you're like me, and you don't always have that kind of $$$ to throw around, and truly need to do it on the cheap, then get the 6421 if you can find it. I got mine back in the day off ebay for about five bucks.

One side note: This was my situation with an 0800 Benq, if you don't make your own backups you might not have to worry about this, but thought I would share anyway so you are fully aware of what having a VIA card might mean going through. You have to disable the device in windows, then delete the actual driver from c:\windows\system32\drivers, and THEN re-enable the device so it shows up device manager with a little exclamation point, in order to flash the drive using jungleflasher and portio32/64.

BUT! Once you have flashed, you THEN have to reinstall the driver so and make it all rosy again if you want xbox backup creator to see it. Only problem is, this gave my Win7 64 system BSOD with DRIVER_IRQ_LESS_THAN_EQUAL, blaming viamraid.sys, the driver.

So I downloaded the latest driver pack from VIA's website, and running setup didn't do d**k. Still bluescreen. So, I had to manually navigate to the windows vista x64 driver inside the extracted folder, and after the driver installed guess what windows thinks my card is now? A 3512!! And XBC works perfectly.

The card worked fine with the 0800 drive on older firmware when windows thought it was a 4621, also. WTF happened there? I don't know, and don't care, since it works. I can say this: I'm not jacking around with this driver issue again, when I next need to flash, it will be with a usbpro.

Long story short? Skip the pain. Go like a pro!
