Has my bios hung ?

I installed my nice new 2.6 with xapter into my V1.0 (i think) xbox, everything seemed to be fine, all lights indicating go.

Put the xbox back together and booted, Flashbios 2.6.0 appears and does some checks and I get options of

Load BIOS from Disc
Load BIOS from HDD (C:/BIOS)
Unlock HDD
Lock HDD

The xbox then just sits there and won't let me do anything.

Have searched for an answer all afternoon, please help

Used original Xbox controller and it scrolls fine,,,phew

E74 error

I just got the E74 error today!

Does anyone know how to fix this?

Does it have anything to do with the thermal paste on the GPU?!....

First, replace the thermal compound with Artic Silver #5 thermal compound then do the X-Clamp fix and hope for the best

okay so this is where you take off the thermal compound that they had and then put on the new thermal paste, then overheat it by placing the fan over the cpu but no the gpu and wait 40min? then put everything back together with out those x clamps but instead with washers and screws?...

is that about right?

my friends box had the "no video" and we did this and it worked for about an hour and went back to no video but sound only.. so i couldnt even get his working, im nervous about mine.

should i give M$ a call?
