Ok I have 2 ver 1.6 boxes, both with x3 chips. We refer to one xbox as xboxA and one xboxB.

xboxA has been working forever no problems at all it had a 1mb x3bios on the 1mb bank all was well. I have an m8 bios on the 2nd 1mb slot.
Well the x3 bios needed to be updated. I did and it just gets frag. no big deal I will just use the secured bank with flashbios to flash. Well the backup partitin is hosed too. so now i have a 1mb evox bios and all other banks are fraggin.
_HOW CAN I GET THE X3CONFIG OR AN X3 BIOS FLASH BACK TO IT?

xboxB has the x3ce it had a 1mb x3bios on the 1mb bank too.
it was working until last week. the bios became corrupt and the protected bank couldnt be acessed either. SO this box has no good banks all setting FRAG.
__WHAT DO I DO TO GET A BANK FLASHED?

PLease help I am beating my head against the wall and running myself in circles.

thanks

what sins have you committed to have God punished you like this. Either you are an extremely unlucky fellow to have 2 badly f*cked up X3 or you have been tinkering around with the chips without knowing what you are doing.

First of all, the backup bios do not work on both of your chips make me suspicious that you have a v1.6b xbox. Take your time to open your xbox and look at the memory to see what brand it is. If they are Samsung, then they are 1.6. If they have Hynix chips, they are 1.6b xboxes. They are important because they use different versions of flashbios. This in turn is important later on as I will tell you.

XboxB chip is FUBAR so you will have to do hotswap on xboxA to try to recover the chip (if you are able to recover xboxA on the next step)

If you have Evox dash installed on XboxA, then you have a chance. Follow this guide here to get flashbios back: http://www.teamxecuter.com/forums/showpost.php?p=107480&postcount=1 (IMPORTANT: make sure to use the correct flashbios for your xbox version. Again, if you have v1.6, use flashbios 3.0.1. If you have v1.6b, use flashbios 3.0.3).

Good luck.

I was reading your reply and wanted to mention that I got xboxA totally functional got flashbios back on a 256k bank and now have x3 3029 on a 1mb.

BUT I dont know what to do whith xboxB.

I have tried a hot swap but when I get chipB in it says :CHIP NOT WRITABLE: or something similar.

I have tried the hot swap in X3confiig and in EVOX..

DO you have any suggestions??
thanks man

I got your PM so and my suggestion is there.

Edit: for the sake of others here was my reply to his PM:

This is what I would do. ftp the needed X3 bios into your xboxA. boot up your xboxA with the good chip to flashbios (whatever the version you need for your xbox). Then carefully remove the good chip (with the system on and flashbios on screen) and plug in your bad chip and flash. Before flashing, make sure the flash protection on the X3 is off. You don't need any wires attached to the bad chip during hotswap and flashing. Once done flashing, shut off your console and then remove your newly flashed chip. Good luck.

BTW, I wouldn't recommend installing any bios in the future except for X3 bios. You just experienced it first hand. Lucky you were able to recover but just learn from your experience. Reason for X3 bios is that you can ftp flash if you needed or you can reflash your backup rom if it gets ****ed up.
