Re: Huge problem with BenQ drive

If 2 drives are now dead since using the towel trick, it sounds like something on the motherboard has seriously gone wrong. A drive simply doesn't just "die" after being flashed unless it was done wrong.

Re: Huge problem with BenQ drive

thats why i said try the above because if the drive dont respond to the method above then it is dead.
but if it does respond then he saves money on buying new drives

or you could try get jf to reckognise the drive
this happened to me i flashed the drive with lt worked for abit turned off the machine went to use agin drive was dead,

to get the drive to be seen open jf then send intro device with the power off on the drive when you see the dots apear on screen ............ the power on the drive it should come up witha status 0x72 this can now be reflashed with fw
Yeah, sure I've tried this, but the drive still wasn't recognized by JF...

Re: Huge problem with BenQ drive

The only other thing I suggest you try is spoof the benq into a working console. If it works, brilliant. If it doesn't, then like I said earlier, you may be better off getting rid.

Re: Huge problem with BenQ drive

I think you don't understand - BIOS on my MB won't recognize it anymore. Lik the drive doesn't exist, even when I open the tray halfway. Like it died completely.

Re: Huge problem with BenQ drive

If you have the ofw.bin or even cfw.bin try this method

www.martin-gardner.co.uk/how-to-recover-your-lite-on-dg-16d2s-drive-after-bad-erase/#ixzz0vyRHWtq6

This process works with all drive apart from hitachi.
