Xbox 1.4. Xecuter 2.6 CE

Ive installed the chip OK (i think). Turn the box on and it boots to a blue Flash BIOS 3.0.3 screen with 5 options:
flash from network
flash from hdd
flash from disc
etc

Ive tried to flash to X2 4983 via a boot disc, the flash started, then switched off as per instructions, but still boots to 3.0.3

How exactly do I get my xbox to play backed up games from dvd?
Im struggeling to find any step-by-step instructions which take you from chip installation to flash to dashboard to playing games :(

Or am I doing something wrong here?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Flashbios 3.03 is on bank 2 of your chip. Flip the bank selector to bank 1, and see what happens. Flashbios always flashes the first 512k of the file to bank 1. You should have flashed with 5035 though. It is a newer bios and has more features.

You can't do anything with your chip until you are running a hacked bios like 5035 or 4983.

OK, well Ive sussed it.

I used X2 Bios Manager and opened the X2_4983.67.bin file in 2 of the 256k memory slots, then selected them both, right clicked and saved them as bios.bin
I then followed the instructions on how to create a flash BIOS iso and burt it to an Imation CD-R.
I then tried to flash with the chip on bank one, but it was FRAGing, so I switched to 2, flashed the BIOS and re-booted to bank 1.

I can now play backed-up games with no problems at all.

What is interesting is the fact that Ive manged to flash the BIOS to a CD-R and the games are all on Maxell DVD-R's and yet they all work, even though lots of people go on about CD/DVD RW's

Chuffed to bits.

Well, you really should flash with 5035. It is already 512k, so it is easy to use. Good to hear you got it working though.
