have i killed my board

hi all
i was trying to install the solderless xapter3r 1.6
and i put one of the wires into the wrong hole
switched on without the chip on and box did nothing
took the adapter out and tried still the same nothing at all
it was wire b that i put in the wrong hole

ps would it have damaged the adapter as well as the board

Are you sure you plugged the power cord back in? Also make sure your surge protector isn't off.

Something else has to have happened. I doubt you killed the board by putting a wire in the wrong spot. Is there something else you aren't telling us?

To clarify, I think Fantmx was referring to the plug from the power supply to the motherboard, the one inside the box. ("Power cord" does sound "external" to me...) Even if he was referring to the external cable, might still want to open the box back up and check the internal one.

I know I've forgotten to plug this back in at least once.

...I've also forgotten the power/eject plug (might want to check this too), controller ports, DVD power, DVD IDE cable, rear fan, etc., etc.

all plugs are in ok

did not take mobo out
not a thing is working not even the fan

If you did wreck the board with the adaptor, you would have at least gotten something the first time you turned the power on. Something has to be unplugged somewhere.

well i am totally baffled as to what is wrong

i have just got the mobo in no adapter or any thing else and nothing
dont know what else to check
should get me other mobo tom and see what happens then
