Have i lost the bios?

Hi,
Modded the box and got the chip re-flashed to bios3.0.3 from my reseller.
booted up and seen the bios, no problem so far.
Linked the box to the PC and attempted to run the Flash from Http.
Got the IP fine from the Xbox and entered it in explorer and selected the upload as explained in the tutorial. With bank switches set as On On Off Off Off as recommended.
The Updating screen never appeared?
Left it for a while but no change.
Obviously i had to reset the Xbox eventually and now i don't get the Bios 3.0.3 on my TV.
I suspect that as the bios never updated that somehow the Bios 3.0.3 has been corrupted and the only Bios available now is what is in the Backup. I suspect that this is bios 3.0.0 . I obviously couldn't update the Backup to bios 3.0.3 as i would need to get the X3 bios into the system before i could do this and flashing with 1959 never worked properly.
Any suggestions or remedies.
Any help would be appreciated. :?

Have you tried booting from any of the 256k banks on your chip??

Refer to the Bank select options for this.

Once should definitely have a 3.0.3 on it still (either bank 4 256k or bank 8 256k).

Thanks for the quick reply Martin
I will check this out shortly once the kids have gone to bed as it's their Christmas present.
If i have any probs i can always come to Motherwell to get some professional advice as i'm only up the road in East Kilbride.
Just joking

Hi Martin,
Success on the 3.0.3 front :D
It was in Bank 4 as you suggested.
I don't want to make a pigs ear of it from here on in.
I assume i should try to re-flash via http for the 1959?
Should i be resetting the Bank Switches to all off now that i've booted and try the X3 bios?
Thanks for a prompt and knowledgeable response.
Cheers

Original backup failed verification but played anyways?

Ok heres my problem. I created a backup of Nhl 10 and then I tested it on my 360 to make sure it worked. It worked fine. Then I learnt about abgx360 and I tried to verify the disk. It said the stealth status is uncertain, and the verification failed. So since the imput file was from a disk, I knew i couldnt go on live with it unless I burnt a new copy with the abgx patches and stuff. Ok thats fine but since I already played the backup with the failed verification, would I still get caught even if i used the completely verified backup?

Re: Original backup failed verification but played anyways?

This is a good question and I would also like to hear the answer. I have also backed up an original disk (Super Street Fighter 4) and the checked my back up via abgx to get back with the answer 'failed verification'.

Can anyone answer the question as to why?

If you made the backup yourself you shouldn't have to use abgx360 to patch the game.

Does it say "There is no verified rip of this Xex/SS combination in the online database" anywhere in the log?

What type of drive, firmware and software are you using to make your game backup?

Funny enough I did actually forget to mention that vital bit of information.
Yes, it did say "There is no verified rip of this Xex/SS combination in the online database" which I did find a bit odd as it was and official genuine UK release and had been released in stores 5 weeks prior.

I used a benq with 0800 fw and xbc to rip the disk

Re: Original backup failed verification but played anyways?

Don't worry about the game verification, you ripped it yourself remember :)

as long as you got an ssv2, the ss,dmi, and pfi appeared valid to abgx and it was splitvid, you should be fine.

My suggestion is you toss that backup and make another one after running the iso thru abgx.

Re: Original backup failed verification but played anyways?

If the rip was made with a BenQ drive with 0800 firmware, and abgx360 says it's SSv2 - then you are safe.

If you got your backup from a Kreon drive or from the internet or something, then you should definitely run it through abgx360 and patch it with SSv2.

Using a kreon drive will give you ssv1 which is what you DONT want. (Unperfect backup)

Most if not all games now are ssv2 so using a kreon drive to rip games will NOT give you a first time perfect back up.

It would need patching with ssv2 ss/dmi sectors to gain ssv2 status.

Failling to patch correctly to ssv2 is what M$ mainly pick up on and give the game away.
