Haven't used the switch in a long time - few questions on getting up to date [SOLVED]

Long Story short - I am on 6.01 - and had sx pro working a while back. haven't used switch in a long time or paid attention to scene. I am currently dumping 6.01 nand while i post this.

Is there anything i need to do other than backup nand, get the latest sx os 2.6.1 beta copy it to the microsd card then update to 7.01?

Don't know if i am banned, i don't think i have been online since i used the pro. Is there an easy way to see if you are banned? I have another switch for online use if i should ever want to do that.

Since i don't know if i am banned should i just use this guide to update firmware?

There is no way to tell easily and in trying to figure it out, if you are not banned you probably will be. I would honestly just not worry about it. Being banned means you cannot connect to Nintendo's services. Only way to tell would be to try. I am not even sure if they email you or anything like that since they are only banning the console itself as far as I know. Not really worth testing IMO since you have another Switch, especially if you have a clean nand backup to wipe the Switch clean with.

As far as updating, yes for your modded Switch it is always best to update offline via that guide.

Thanks for the reply - I made my first backup of 6.01 on a modded switch. I didn't make a backup first thing before using the sx pro, im not sure that it was in the instructions back then. How do i know if its clean?

There isn't a sure fire way to tell at this point, but since you didn't make the back up first then your sysnand is most likely not "clean". Basically no one has confirmed what Nintendo is even checking when banning consoles anyways so a "clean" sysnand, might not even be enough anyways. I wouldn't stress it too much unless you really want to go online, but I would recommend finding a cheap used Switch at this point if that's an options for you.

Awesome- Thanks for your help. I don't mind having a 2nd switch to go online, i have a 2nd clean switch but i don't go online with it.
