Okay, so I got my drive into ModeB using the SLAX disc, and after I got to the login, I turned off the computer, and took out the SLAX disc. I turned on the Computer, and pressed the eject button, to open and close the disc. I went to MY COMPUTER and went to Device Manager, and it was listed under drive F:/. So in the Tutorial in the .pdf file that textbook made, it says to right-click on X-LG file, and open in Command Prompt. I can't do that because my computer is a ME edition, so is there a way to get to the X-LG file? I think I got to it, so I typed in FLASH23S F 1234, something like that (I'm out of town at the time but want to get this solved for when I get back). It says "Hitachi Build Not Detected" or something like that. I can't figure out what to do. Does anyone know what I can do? Thanks

You need to get home and give us specific error messgaes. Providing error messages as 'somthing like that' is only likely to get you solutions that are also 'something like that' - next thing you know you have a brick.

Exact steps

Well this looks like that u didn't type the right Drive letter! because the script will automatically check which drive u have if it's 47 or 59 or what ever and then will FLASH it acording to the vr. it reads.

So make sure you r in modeB and then make sure you are in the DOS command and on the X-LG folder "e.g. C:\>X-LG\" and then type the command and make sure you are typing the right Drive letter.

To make sure it's the right drive letter, right click on the CD ROM and click properties, or simply after ModeB disconnect any other CD ROM drive before turning on your PC.

Thanks.

Alright I'm home now and this is what it says in the Command Prompt:

Maximus-garyOPA: Xtreme v2.3 Stealth
HITACHI ALL VERSIONS 8in1

BASED ON THE WORK BY garyOPA
Updates your x360 DVD driver firmware

Making BACKUP of your DRIVE KEY...

CreateFile() failed 2

ERROR: Hitachi drive build was NOT detected!

WARNING: One of THREE things could be wrong!

#1: Check to see if your drive is in Windows
#2: Make sure you are using the right letter
#3: Your x360 drive is not a working version

C:\WINDOWS\Desktop\Modifications\Xbox 360\Maximus-Garyopa_XTRM-HITACHI_v2_3_Stealth_Rev2\X-LG\

I am using the Xeno ODD adapter to connect it to my PC. I'm also using the SATA to USB converter (because my PC has no SATA). The drive is found in "My Computer" under Drive "F". I have the right letter, and I'm pretty sure that my Drive is a working Version.

My drive is a Hitachi LG
Model: GDR-3120L
Rom Ver: 0047DJ

Please help me figure this out!

Also, in the X-LG file there is a MS-DOS Batch File called "FLASH16S". What is that one for? Could I use that instead?

Thanks

Sorry for the Double Post, but there is a button on the Xeno ODD adapter, that says mode, and if you press it, the LED goes from RED, to GREEN. My PC is a Windows ME edition, and when I right-click on the X-LG file, there is no "Open in Command Prompt". Is there another way that I can get into it, because maybe my way isn't working? Also, does my Hitachi-LG drive have to be open or closed when flashing it?

I think you have to have Windows XP, but I'm not sure as that's all I've ever flashed with.
