X360USB PRO Having trouble flashing 500 GB hard drive

I have been able to flash some western digital 250 GB hard drives using the x360usb pro2, but today I tried western digital 500 gb (plvx model) and it reads the drive and lets me select the 500 gb bin file and then just says sending drive intro... and just stays there. On the usb pro2 the power light is on and the portio light is red. I have v.21 hacker tool and on a windows 7 64 bit system.

Any suggestions?

As an update I was able to flash the 500 gb drive using the usb flash drive method by booting into dos. Still curious about why it wouldnt with my x360 pro2, if anyone has any ideas let me know

i wouldnt use a 500gb hdd on a 360 on live, there hasnt been an official hdd released that size.

that hdss.bin seems fishy to me.

Agreed, I've never seen an official Microsoft Xbox 360 500GB hard drive, and if BL4K3Y and gazcoigne haven't either, I'm willing to bet it doesn't exist. Whoever uploaded that 500GB sector probably doesn't know what they are doing and pulled it off one of these sketchy (non-official Microsoft drives):

http://www.amazon.com/Xbox-360-Drive-500GB-HardDrive-Memory/dp/B00CTVSK3M

Notice how it says "Jailbroken" Xbox 360 required...

A HDD that require "jailbroken" Xbox doesnt need a special security sector flashed to Its eeprom.

i think the hdss has been leaked from within the m$ camp by someone

perhaps m$ planned on doing a 500gb (or still do) before the xbox one came out.

as ant says, its unnecessary for modded consoles as they dont look for an hdss.bin.

I've been playing gears online with a 500gb since original posting and have had no issues. The 500 GB slim hard drives are all over eBay as well. Would assume if they were getting people banned they wouldn't be selling on eBay but who knows will keep you guys posted
