Controller issue. Make sure you've got an original m$ controller in port 1. No other controllers plugged in and no memory card in the controller. Or you can use a dvd remote & dongle. Cheers

The BEST method is using the DVD Remote in port 1, the controllers have changed over the years and some are less compatible (Like my Halo Edition) but the remote works for me every time.

I got the same problem. It's about 10 hours since I have started to work on that XBOX MOD project and it does not look like it will be done anytime soon.

I got DVD remote - but it does not really help a lot. I see X3 BIOS screen, however I am unable to navigate in menus. The same happen when I try to boot the EXOX boot disc - I do show the EVOX menu - but I can not move a cursor.

Please help.

Does it something to do with X3 Bios? Is that the common problem for all x3ce mod chip?

Thanks!

Once you've flashed the chip, put your controller back in, It's easier to use than the remote. X3 Config live should not have trouble reading any controllers.

I had the same problem with naving the menus. It basically took me retrying my a$$ off until I could get it to work. I'm sure I must have rebooted no less than 125 times.

do you have a 1.6b motherboard or something? if you have 1.6 you should use on,on,off, off, off

and make sure you dont have flash protection on your chip..

What I was doing was not having ANY controller type plugged in when it booted, and IF I got it to initialize and give me the menu I would plug the controller in. (Never said it wasn't ghetto style!)

Yes i get the flasbios screen. If I use on,on,off, off, off I get flashbios 3.0.1 and if I use the setings off,on,off, off, off i get the flashbios 3.0.3..... But I can't scroll in the menu...
What is the problem?

i have never encountered anyone that couldn't get either an original m$ controller to work, or the DVD remote & dongle. That is unusual. Can you get a friend to flash your chip and then put it back into your xbox?

See, mine would BARELY ever get to the menu screen,...and when it would only 1 out of 4 times would it let me control the menu, but it would at least. I would start up the Xbox with nothing plugged in, then try every port until wither it worked, or I knew I had to reboot.
