Hi guys, when i tried locking my hard drive, the x3 bios says it is locked... so i set xboxdash.xbe as the top priority to load then i reboot my machine with the chip disabled, i get a "Your xbox needs maintenance screen" and nothing loads after that. I have a maxtor 80gb hard drive and i copied over both the C and the E partitions from the original HD. I'm not sure what i am doing wrong.. the hd is locked and the chip is disabled, still no dashboard loads. help me out! both evox and xbmc work fine with the hd locked so im confused.

when it loads up the "xbox needs maintenance screen" what is the number in the top left hand corner of the screen?

its a microsoft screen... it says your xbox needs maitenance in about 10 languages... its not the screen with the error codes that you are talking about.
I just put back in the OEM drive and ms dash boots right up with the chip disabled so it must be something im doing wrong with the new HD... its locked and the files are there i just do not know?

I'd hate to have to reformat the drive with all the data i have stored on there, it would take quite some time to back up via ftp. Isnt there a more simple way to fix this... i set up the drive using the x3 bios new hard drive install.. i have a C E and F partition and right now all my data is store on f... only thing on C is the OEM hard drive data as well as my dashboards, E is also the same as the stock oem drive. What is the name of the ms dash supposed to be in the C drive and also what files are supposed to be in C in order for ms dash to work, i want to make sure i have them all.

are you trying to boot to your msdash from inside x3 bios? if you are try disabling the chip and then you should be able to make it into msdash fine. besides what do you honestly need to use msdash for?

I have a modded and banned xbox360 (I don't know what version etc. since I purchased it modded and know nothing about it. Any tips will be appreciated!), It works great offline - I apply WAVE2 to all copied game (the last was CODBO) and all is OK.
I got a kinect. connected it, updated from the game and all worked great! Even the avatars came back...
Then I tried a copied kinect game (after i applied wave2). I see the game icon on the dash... I was asked to update, answered "YES", and since then I get "a system update is required to use kinect" every time I start the xbox... I can't start any kinect game (other games still work). I used MS' latest update (12611) with a USB stick, which made things worse (avatars gone again) and didn't help - I still get "a system update is required to use kinect" every time I power the xbox and no kinect game works (not even the one that came with it......)
Can you please help me?

Yes... AFAICT, there is no other system update, yet every time I boot the 360 when the Kinect is connected - even without a disc in the tray - I get "a system update is required to use kinect"...Sda3 said:that is the current one, it says you have it installed on your console information page?

Hey I get this same problem. When I first bought It I updated with the adventures game, and then played sports,joyride,fighters uncaged & now when I try it says the same error message. I've tried updated via usb and cd, and nothing. With the adventures game same error.
I cleared the cache and made no difference. How do I delete the update?
