HD Problems

I have my xbox networked to pc through crossover cable and 2nd network card. when transferring to xbox is flies(100mb full duplex), when transferring from the dvd on xbox it flies(same settings), but i'm backing up my games to dvd and when transferring from the HD it only transfers at around 200-500kb/s. Does this mean the HD is on the way out? I have read that I should back up, format F: on my pc, defrag, then put everything back on again. Only thing is, how do I format F: back to the Xbox file format? I didn't install this Hd myself, someone did it for me.

Let me get this straight:

PC->Xbox is good
Xbox->PC is bad

Try the following:

1. Set the PC NIC to half-duplex.

or

2. Try another Crossover cable.
