HD Question - F: Size Error

I have a stock 9.54Gig (as shown in the X3 HD info) in my Xbox. I noticed that all of the partitions do not add-up to 9.54gig. I also notice that the f: gives an 'Err: 1005' under Avalaunch's file manager.

- Is the f: just not active, and is that why the partitions do not add-up to 9.54gig? If so, how can I activate it?

- Can f: be used for backup storage, or is it a system partition?

Thanks in advance for any advice -

You should be able to format the F drive if there's space available. You can do this in X3 Config Live. Once it's done, you can use it for storing apps etc.

there is no stock 9.54GB hard drive.

the XBOX comes with an 8GB (actual size 7.45GB) or 10GB (actual size 9.31GB)

BUT... every stock hard drive only uses 8GB (actual size 7.45GB)

-- Partition Table --
Total Size: 7.45GB
C: 0.49GB
E: 4.77GB
X: 0.73GB
Y: 0.73GB
Z: 0.73GB

if you have a 10GB hard drive, you can use the 1.86GB not used as F:

correct. in otherwords, to enable that extra gig or two, just format an f: partition. I think you have to do it through another dash as x3 config live will format the whole drive (i think, no entirely sure because i've never actually used that feature).
